Prof. Salman Zarka
Director General, Ziv Medical Center
Prof. Salman Zarka is an Israeli Druze physician and public leader whose life joins medicine, military service, regional relationships, and a lasting commitment
to Israel.
A physician specializing in public health and medical administration, he served for 25 years in the Israel Defense Forces Medical Corps and retired as a colonel. His leadership included senior medical-command roles and founding and commanding the field hospital established on Israel's border with Syria to treat casualties of the Syrian civil war.
In 2019, Prof. Zarka was selected to light an Independence Day torch. In 2021, the Government of Israel appointed him national coronavirus commissioner.
His life joins Druze identity, medicine, military service, family, public leadership, and an enduring commitment to Israel.

Pamela Dubin
Founder and President
Pamela Dubin is the Founder and President of Ziv Partners. She first came to know Prof. Salman Zarka through her graduate studies at Hebrew University in Jerusalem many years ago.
Their relationship grew from a shared passion for Zionism, Israel and equality - and a belief in an Israel where every person has the opportunity to belong, contribute and lead.
Pamela is American-Israeli and has spent decades building relationships, institutions and initiatives across philanthropy, Israel and public life.
October 2023
The October 2023 medical delegation
In October 2023, immediately after October 7, a distinguished group of physicians, medical leaders, and philanthropists joined Pamela Dubin and Prof. Salman Zarka to examine what Ziv Medical Center and Israel's north would require.
The delegation was created to bring serious people to Ziv, help the hospital be seen, and build relationships that could outlast the immediate emergency.
